I have had, sitting on my desk, a Canon 100mm L IS macro. I never used it.
Sold it to a mate and bought the olympus 60mm Macro for my m4/3 kit.
It's a harder lens to use, but the entire kit weighs about the same as the Canon lens alone! So guess what, it goes more places with me.
First time out was a stroll round a little nature reserve near where I work.
