After finally getting my d750 back from Nikon (shutter recall and shoddy clean) i wanted to take it out and give it a test. I have never shot poppy fields before so it was a challenge trying to do justice to what my eyes were seeing.

My closer shots are not at the standard i like to show, so its just the wider shots today. I will have to return and redo the closer images.

thanks very much for looking.

The limited dof in the second one is working best for me David, but the others are good as well. Wondering how you got the sky blurred in 3&4 without blurring the poppies, but maybe a very still day?

That's what I love about photography. How we all see it differently. I hate blurred sift backgrounds.

I normally aren't a big fan of the sun being in the frame but the first is so technically well resolved it works well as the usual ugly hotspots aren't there distracting and over powering the scene

Thanks very much. No. 3 is 162 seconds and No 4 34 seconds i think. There was little to no wind at ground level so i was able to use longer exposure times for the sky. I was fortunate enough to be able to capture these in single exposures.

Nice set David, and glad you got your 750 back alive and well.
Its No1 for me IMHO it eclipses all the others, I think thats a lovely image and the cloud is great. No4 is second place.
No2 not so keen on the blurred poppy in the immediate foreground left of center, i think that quite distracting.
No3 would have worked for me, and probably would have been my 2nd pick, had it not been for the large semi blown out portion where the sun is.
Blowed if i can find many poppies down this way to speak of ....
Nice spot you have there(y)

hard to pick, i like them all. But I'm edging to the third one, the way the hill rolls to the right but the cloud has interest to the left.

Stunning images! Lovely rich colours.

Great shots. I particularly like 1 with 2 coming a close second for me.
