weekly Flyphots 52 for 2022: - Week 52 'Showcase'

Definitely an album cover shot. It makes a really cool graphic.

These tools are coming in very handy at the moment!

Really like the viewpoint and a great idea. You must have got rather warm getting this shot :)

Thanks. Yes, I didn't hang around too long!! :D:cool:

A lovely warm feel on this Jim :)

Thank you Dave, the fire has been getting lots of use this last couple of weeks!

Lovely shot Jim - that immediately brings back childhood memories, smells and sounds - thanks!

Thanks Simon, glad you like it. We love having an open fire it's just so romantic (although I want to change it to a wood burner, for the heat efficiency of them - the wife isn't particularly convinced as she loves the open fire)

Curves: a creative take on the theme Jim
Tool(s): I like this one a lot. You've managed to capture a nice sense of relaxation and comfort.

Thank you Bill for taking the time to comment

An different perspective works really nicely. I like the low key feel of it.

A very warming picture and the low angle is spot-on for it too. I've got my fire going tonight for some extra warmth. Hopefully, I'll have enough logs to see me through winter!

Thanks Simon, we have a lot of logs so i'm hopeful we'll be OK. I'm tossing up whether to have a multi-fuel burner installed as they are more efficient, but the fire is just so nice ... it's a tough one

Week 50 - Construction

There is a lot of work going on near where I live to bring a wide river estuary back to a natural wetland. As part of this scheme there is a need for the construction of a anew road, pictured here, along with lots of other work to redirect drainage channels, and even moving a cricket club!

Anyway, here are a couple of images I took today, nothing earth shattering but hopefully they fit the theme.

Not earth shattering, but earth moving?? :) Both fit the theme nicely and I like your chosen one best too. It's good to see the men at work and not just the machinery.

I thought it was a road construction and it's nice to hear that it is all in aid of a river and wildlife.

On theme and you picked the right one for the main thread Jim.

Thanks both, I can't help feeling I haven't really 'tried' this week to make something more of the theme, but life is busy at the moment.

I know the feeling only too well. It’s hard keeping up never mind going the extra mile. Construction is going to be tricky for me.

That fits the theme nicely Jim. Glad to see construction with positive intent for the environment rather than just concreting over and building more houses

A well taken shot for the theme.
Looks like they are having another site meeting!

Thanks peter, they did seem to stand around for quite a long time :D

Week 51 - Christmassy

Love this ornament Jim, I'd like to see it in colour.

Have a great Christmas!

I like the angle you've shot from and the simplicity of the artefacts.
B/W suits this well.

Week 52 - Showcase

Well, i've got to the end again ... phew!

Here is my 'showcase' image. I don't think it's the best image of the year from me but I do think it's one of my favourites. I just love the way the light plays across the scene and the colours just seem to work really well, along with the interest of the subject. The image was taken in the cafe at the top of the famous Gold Hill (of Hovis fame) in Shaftesbury, Dorset.

Thanks to all who have looked at and commented on my images this year, it was tough to keep going at times but i'm glad I got through. It was also really nice to see the images the other participants put forward, and apologies for not commenting as much as I possibly could have on all of your fabulous work.

Here's to next year, but for now I leave you with 'The Reader'

Happy New Year all!
