I don't usually do sunrise in June, far too early! however this one combined with a full moon setting in what looked like great conditions, and the chance to tie in a socially distanced mtb ride with a friend afterwards.

So after getting up at silly o'clock we shot the full moon set from Newlands corner. It's a shame we had clouds Friday night as the moon rise and prenumbral eclipse would have been interesting.

A cracking time watching the moon set, it's always a game to balance the exposures but I never tire of a full moon setting / rising! All taken with 5d mk iv and a sigma 120-400, the panorama's stitched in PTGui and edited in Lightroom.

Although it would be a pretty scene it doesn't give you much to work with for a photograph, there's no focal point in the landscape which you need especially in this soft light. They might go down well with local people but I can't say these work for me, sorry.

Thanks for commenting, agree there is no foreground interest, this is all about the big vista. Although there are trees and bits of landscape that do make for foreground interest at this location, none of them lined up for the moon on this occasion, and this was about the setting moon. That’s what makes photography so interesting that we all like different things.
