I recently attempted modding a DK-22 to allow fitting a DK-17M eyepiece for my D750. Worked brilliantly until I left my flat. With the 14-24 attached, the thing didn't last long. A small tap caused the thing to crumble.
So I have instead designed something I am going to get made out of aluminium on a CNC machine. I have no idea whatsoever on cost however if this is something anyone is interested in, and the prototype works, it may be a nice idea to get in bulk.
Here's a wee preview of her. Going to knock up some 2D's for the machinest this week - I cal her the RH-22.

Can anyone confirm the thread size on the D3? I have had great difficulty searching into this but it appears to be a M22x0.5.
Thoughts?
