Gitzo mini traveller tripod

I’m thinking of a Gitzo mini traveller tripod or similar tripod as a very lightweight tripod option to get low level ground photos with the Nikon 400mm f4.5 and Z8. I will mainly be hand holding but want some support for low level ground photos. A mini tripod looks ideal with small size and low weight meaning I will carry it on the chance of using it.

The max weight on the gitzo is 3kg so higher than the weight of the Nikon combo (2.3kg). You can also swap over the head to the gitzo 82TQD which I already have.

Anyone have one of these mini tripods and use it in a similar way?

I was looking at their small mini tripods at the photography show in March. Their ranger mini tripod looked pretty good. Maybe a bit too big for what I’m thinking. Their other mini tripod is only rated to 2kg.

Interestingly I’ve just gound out the gitzo mini legs are rated to 25kg. It’s the head that takes it down to 3kg. Perhaps the 82-TQD head I have will up rate it above 3kg.
