I have mentioned glass.photo (a flikr like alternative) before, and commented that it's a bit tricky to get a feel for it, without actually signing up. Which is $40 a year.

However, they have now launched a "viewer only" membership, for free, which allows you to browse members public albums, follow up to thee photographers, and get a better feel for the site.

I'm not sure if it's really something I'm interested in, but I signed up to the newsletter and get the feeling it might be an interesting option for people looking for a photo sharing site.

Interesting?

That linked to 'front page' reminds a tad of 500px

I will have a looksee at it

TFS :)

Can you link to photos for display on TP?

I actually have a Glass account.

Can you link to photos for display on TP?

I just tested it from the insert image from URL option and didn't work to insert the image. Unless there's another way I should be adding the image.

Actually you copy the link of the image embedded in their sharing page and get at least 1024px preview at least.

Link to the photo they give is https://glass.photo/matty/4bBfBwDWt7pb3uj4im6PqA

Splashy website - their marketing seems a bit desperate. Hard to get a feel of anything from it. Americocentric for sure - a bit loud and over here.

It could be that Ipernity would be a more sensible choice.
Overview: https://www.ipernity.com/about/us
Pricing: https://www.ipernity.com/club
They are based in Amsterdam, both founders live there, one is from Oregon and the other is Dutch.

Their marketing person is based in Idaho, and I find his "promotional" videos hard work

The new and fourth member of the team (an engineer) is based in Portugal

The impression I get, is that Glass is more "photo" orientated and Ipernity is more "Club" orientated, But that is based on no experience of either.
