Anyone who has ever driven the West Coast road to Gairloch has probably pulled into the layby and taken this shot - I've taken it myself dozens of times.
I'd been hillwalking in Torridon and it had been raining all day. Just as we got to the top of the glen on our way home the clouds broke and some late evening light spiked through into the glen. Dived out and took this balancing the camera on the car roof with a long lens at about 130mm. Hand held a cokin soft grad over the lens to temper the sky a bit.
