Hadrons 2552- Week 5 - Snappers Choice

Depends on your definition of food…..
No. 1 is much the stronger picture. Quite stark.

They are both really good have a commercial look to them if you know what I mean.
Great colours in both but I think I favour the first one for its simplicity.

I like image #1 for it's simplicity (even though "sugar free" is sacrilege) but I like image #2 for it's depth and complexity.

Both are well shot.

Thanks, I’m really not convinced it’s food, edible(ish) at best but my kids seem to like them :D

Thanks, that was the look I was hoping for even if it’s a bit Marmite :)

Thanks, agree about the sugar free though, it makes you wonder what’s in them :D

Are the backgrounds a composite or have you managed to capture those colours so clearly.
They put me in mind of a youtuber I watch - tin house studio (@scottchoucino on Insta)

Hard to choose between them. Both good shots to kick off your 52.
Thanks.
Two strong images - a good start to the year
Many thanks.

Thanks. No it’s not a composite, I used an A2 (I think) sheet of coloured paper lit with two strobes. I’ve been watching a lot of Tin House Studios back catalogue recently and been have great fun trying to emulate that look so yes it was inspired quite heavily by his images :)

You've achieved it very successfully :)

Thank you.

Quick edit. Just thought having said it’s not a composite it is a focus stack of 3 images if that was what you were meaning

Love the minimalism in your first shot.

2 cracking photos there to start. Great backgrounds too

Love the minimalism in your first shot.

Love the first shot, though I would have cropped out the sugar free label for a stronger image - though I appreciate that you no doubt included it to make a point.
Thanks, I actually did nearly remove the “sugar free” label but stopped myself. I’m still in two minds about whether I should have kept it or not so I see where you’re coming from :)

Week 2 - Cold.
This weeks challenge is right up my street. I love taking detailed shots of nature and this weeks frost was just begging to be shot. I might not be the best at this genre but it is certainly up there amongst my favourite types of photography :)

Nicely done :)

Well seen and presented. I like the processing - not too strong, but effective. I assume you have added a vignette.

Very good work!

That's nice James. Good composition.

Nice work there.

Nice shot James.
Thanks all.

Thanks, yes I did add a bit of a vignette to draw attention to the subject.
Nice compost-ition (did you see what I tried to do there?)

Works really well - you can almost feel the cold.
Thanks, very good :ROFLMAO:

Food shots, I love the lollipop image although if I was eating one I would go for the burger. The brightly coloured BG's really work for the images.

Cold shot, I really like the tones and the way the frost/ lighting has highlighted the centre leaf and given the image something for the eye to rest on.

Cold

I would hang that on my wall.

Perfect for the theme. Nicely captured.

Really nice

Nice shot. I can sense the crunch of standing on them.

I like that, nice detail.

Very nice close-up and I like the processing too.

Many thanks :)

The food shots are so stark - almost computer generated which I mean as a compliment! I actually prefer the second shot for the colurs and textures

The frozen leaves look a thousand years old - great atmosphere!!

Food - I think I prefer the first shot just for the colours being such a good match, could definitely see it on an ad!
Cold - really like the composition, although I won't copy Kell's pun :ROFLMAO:

I love the texture and detail in this one :)

Spot on and fits the theme.

Beautiful shot James, I love the processing

Thanks all, apologies for the slow response (been one of those weeks) :)
