For what it's worth I could never tell much difference between the mk3 and mk4 (but I don't typically shoot birds in flight or similar)
Finally got a half decent shot of one of these little beauties after a lot of unsuccessful attempts

Thanks George - hope you're wellVery nice wildlife capture Mike, I've never yet seen one of these in real life and would really like to. Even though I'm not into birds I do appreciate good photography of them.
Yes I'm just fine thank you for asking Mike, and hope that your the same too. Thanks George - hope you're well
Mate. I recognise your joy. Same here, finally got one. Can’t share as it was on a Fuji. Finally got a half decent shot of one of these little beauties after a lot of unsuccessful attempts

Absolutely! Nice shot especially at iso12800 - my RX10 runs out of puff at around iso800 which is one of its main drawbacks... Never even knew there was a 150-600 for Fuji - looks like a beast of a lens!

I keep hankering after a 'real' lens for wildlife stuff (eg a Tamron 100-500 for my A7Rii) but I can't convince myself I'd be committed enough to lug it around... been spoiled with the RX10 which is just so easy to use. Will ponder for a while then probably do nothingIt is mate. I ran this through PureRAW 2. Terrific for noise reduction.
If you do decide to move over away from the Sony let me know as I may be interested in your MkivI keep hankering after a 'real' lens for wildlife stuff (eg a Tamron 100-500 for my A7Rii) but I can't convince myself I'd be committed enough to lug it around... been spoiled with the RX10 which is just so easy to use. Thanks GeorgeVery nice wildlife capture Mike, this is one of the only birds that I've wanted to snap but at this moment in time I've never even seen one in the wild.
These are great MikeMore with the RX10iv

Magic
I think this is my favourite of the ones you've posted so far Mike.
Thanks Alby - it wasn't a shot I thought was anything amazing when I took it but am chuffed with how it came out (this is the other way around from usual!)I think this is my favourite of the ones you've posted so far Mike.
I have just bought a FZ1000mkii so very interested in the guidehaving now sold the fz1000mkii I currently have graham Houghton's guide book for it lying around . its on e.bay but if anyone on here wants it let me know and I'll put it in classified for a silly price
The Mk3 RX10 is great and not wildly expensive (second hand only now as the Mk4 is current) - there's compromise in everything photographic as I'm sure you know but you could make a strong case for one of these as a 'one size fits all' cameraGreat shot.
But genuinely thought that said Council Estate. Thought it doesn't look like any council estate I've ever been on.
Just reading up on this thread as I've been looking for a one size fits all solution for a while.
I had thought I'd found it with a lens, but maybe it's something like an earlier version of one of these.
Will do a link to it in classified in a bit . And it’s already a good price but I’ll lower it further . Can’t unfortunately do much about postage costs..I have just bought a FZ1000mkii so very interested in the guide

Thanks GeorgeVery nice fungi style capture Alby, with some good detail.
for all your restrictions it came out really good Mike, I think.Pushing it to the limits here - iso800 and only 1/125 at f4 and 600mm equiv - also a big crop for good measure! Looks ok if you squint a bit and take a couple of steps back from the screen

Thanks Alby! You need good light to get the best out of these really but it's fun to see what's feasiblefor all your restrictions it came out really good Mike, I think.
