Thank you one and all. Although this littlle one's a regular visitor it hasn't made it easy for me. They're a butterfly of the south of Britain although my book is just a little out of date so I don't know if their range is changing at all. They're one of the ones that snap their wings shut as soon as they land. Even in flight I can't see the wings well enough to sex the thing. They move too fast for my eyes. It's also been quite hard to show the colour. The sun is very harsh at the moment and when it's fully on the wings they tend to look white. I'm not sure how many shots I've binned but it was a lot
