One of a panel I had on display in the Saatchi Gallery in London a while back as part of a sucessful entry in the RHS Photography Panel competition, it is a very small fungi that is 'not common' its also a pain to find, literally, hands and knees under a Holly bush seaching the dead leaf litter - it only grows on decayed Holly leaves, This is a stack of 15 images, Nikon D810, Sigma 150 f2.8 macro lens - tripod, remote release, mirror up, ISO64, F25, 1.6sec each exposure ( natural light ) then stacked in PS to create the final image. The fungi is normally circa 1-1.5cm tall with a cap size of up to 5mm, although that varies with its location often having to grow through leaf litter to get the cap into open space for spore dispersal
