Thanks Alan they are nasty things can give a realy bad biteI think they're all excellent les but No.1 is the stand out one for me. What a strange creature and wonderfully photographed
Yes I got bitten by one once - better than mosquitos though because there aren't many of them.

Yup. I encountered these in Kazakhstan. I was buzzed a few times but not bitten but everyone else was

Your right, I'm mildy allergic to horseflies, sadly they love me. I can be out with half dozen people and I've covered and they are not bothered at all. No idea why, but it's a PITA when I'm out shooting.
Great set of pics, the spiders my fav though.
