Horsefly and a fly

I hate those horsefly's with a vengeance.
Having spent about 30 years as a pestie, and having been bitten or stung by the best, they are the only things that I react badly to

Great shots.
We call them Clegs in Scotland.
I was bitten by one when I was 15, during a Duke of Edinburgh award hike.
I had a nasty reaction and ended up with lockjaw.

A bit over processed/sharpened on the 1st shot but I like the comp. and dof. Ok on the 2nd shot.

Lot's of horseflies in Alabama, hated them as a kid and don't ever want to get bit by one ever again. It's a very harsh, painful sting, unlike a bee sting.
