Hi, my HP Photosmart 9180 is starting to give me grief and looking for some ideas. Some (but not all) prints are showing an orange were there should be close to black in the shadows, as if there is no black/dark inks.
I have run the normal print head clean and alignment and all the test prints from the printer appear to look OK and also tried printing from a different computer and the same problem is still apparent.
The printer is reporting that 6 of the 8 cartridges have expired but as they are still producing test prints OK then I am loathed to change them all if I can get away with it.
I will be trying to clean the print heads this weekend but if all else fails I will be looking at a set of third party inks from City Ink Express.
Would be useful to know if anyone else has seen had a similar problem before I go throwing more money at this old printer
