iMac slideshow software recommendations pls

I need something akin to ProShowGold, which I used for many years on a PC, but for an iMac now - but I'm struggling to find something similarly easy to use

Its primarily for use on YouTube and for club presentations

I'm not into whizz-bang transitions, I've always preferred a simple fade between images, but being able to add text and music is a must

Ta :)



PS - I did try a search but the last iMac one I found was 2015, so either I didn't search well or its not a common query!
 
have tried the imovie programme I think it is part of the software that is included on a mac ( well it is included in my mac studio.}. just finished a slidshow using the programme for the first time and it is quite easy to use and offers a range of features

Thanks, but iMovie is blanked out as unavailable on my iMac
 
I've used Keynote for simple slideshows, Open Office also has presentations (i.e. Power Point); I've even used layers and tabs in photoshop and a collection of images in LR.

For Youtube I've used Quicktime (and optionally KeyCaster) to record the presentation as a video with narration/voiceover (usually edited in iMovie for final). If iMovie is unavailable for your version of the OS you might be able to download an earlier version (internet archive, etc).. you can record voiceover directly in the program as well.

in addition to iMovie and Keynote try FotoMagico 6 or Movavi Slideshow Maker. Do you know why iMovie is not available for your iMac?

If it’s just purely for a slideshow just use Adobe express it comes included as part of creative cloud.
