In praise of Panamoz

Last week my beloved Canon RF 200-800 developed a fault, the collar started blocking and would only spin 90 degrees rather than the full 360. Jiggling the lens would sometimes deblock it and there was the sound of a small metal part moving around in / under the collar. The collar is not user removable so the only option was getting it fixed officially.
I sent a quick email to Panamoz ( my supplier) explaining the situation and the speedy reply was " send it to canon we'll pay the estimate by paypal"
I received the estimate yesterday, £425 () sent it on to Panamoz last night and by this morning funds were in my paypal account.
So if anyone is on the fence about the 3 year warranty from Panamoz... It's real and the support is faster than a fast thing.

Wow, £425 for a replacement/repair to the collar.

I've used them on several occasions tho never had to have a warranty repair done. I did have an issue with the delivery of an order and the matter was resolved in quick time. They never seem to quibble or wriggle out of a situation if there's a problem.

Brilliant company, I personally wouldn't use anywhere else now. Recently got a Z6III from them, at a phenomenal price, long may they keep trading.

Have mentioned it on here before but I had a similar experience as the o.p.

I had a Sony A7III that developed a fault with the E.V.F when I checked it was bought from panamoz and was 2 years and 11 months old. I messaged them expecting them to tell me to do one with only 3 weeks of warranty left but they gave me details to send it for a repair estimate. I sent it away for the estimate and got word back that it was going to cost over £400. I forwarded the email to Panamoz and 2 hours later received a paypal payment for the full amount.

The downfall of a complicated collar arrangement. I love the look of the collar, so streamlined and neat but I'd swap it for a "normal" collar in a hot minute.
Now the "part" is on back order :(, finger's X'd it doesn't take tooooo long.

Just ordered a Nikon Z9 from them today and have tracking details already........Hoping that I won't need to use the warranty, but comforting to know how good their service levels are!

I've had nothing but brilliant service from Panamoz - always courteous and helpful and always the best prices with super fast delivery. (y)

I recently had to return my D850 to Nikon as it threw up an error I couldn't clear. I got a quote of just under £500.00 and Panamoz paid it into my PayPal account almost immediately.

Nikon on the other hand were bloody useless - in fact, so bad I swore I would never buy anything 'new' from them again. Their service was abysmal . . .

Panamoz - 100%
Nikon - 001%

Yes Panamoz are excellent, I had similar experience, my R5 needed fixing just inside the 3 year warranty
It was repaired at Canon and Panamoz refunded me very quickly
Definitely recommend them :)

I've only dealt with them once when i bought an RF 15--35 lens, very prompt delivery, wouldnt hesitate to use them again.

have Canon actually carried out the repair? My understanding of the main issue is that Panamoz are open in admitting they supply grey market and that sometimes the manufacturers in a particular territory won't touch repairs on their products if the serial numbers are from a different territory ie grey markets?

I really want to buy my next camera, a Z8, from somewhere like Cambrian during the Black Friday deals - hoping that they will give me the best deal, but since the kit I am looking at (Z8, FTZII and 24-120/4 - Grays prices) is currently about £450-500 more than the Z8-FTZII-24-70/2.8 at Panamoz these glowing accolades are not helping...

It's a paid repair (Panamoz paid me) and Elstree is currently waiting on the parts
