So, photographed a drift meeting a couple of months ago and it all went great, despite disastrous light - Australian sun, boiling hot and very harsh light with no shade! I've just started editing the last lot of photos from the weekend and I've noticed on all of the photos there are small blown highlights on the body of the cars, only small mind you, but I was wondering if others would consider that problematic? I'll pop up a photo to show what I mean as soon as I can.

My own view is that a fault like that can be overlooked if the rest of the photo is stunning...

Look at the overall impact rather than the detail.

did you shoot in RAW? could you not edit the photo in RAW, exposing for the background, then re-edit the RAW reducing the exposure on the whole car or the parts you feel are blown?

I use that when i want a different exposure for the subject car to the background/foreground :)

Thanks guys! I am sorry I didn't remember this!!!

I decided just to leave it, I'm not that good at editing so it would have been too much work!
