Nicely done.

My faves are 1 and 3, where the model's face is the key part of the image, although I feel you might have lifted and warmed her skin a little more in number 3.

Thanks Toni. #1 & #2 are my favourites, #2 because of the reflection.
#3 is slightly cooler. I wonder if I used classic chrome rather than astia soft when processing.

I like the reflection but the outfit completely ruins the shot for me. It's not something you could change or control so I didn't mention it, but it can be difficult sometimes to separate out the photographic aspects from the content.

Out of interest, would it have been possible to shoot with a longer focal length at similar aperture for a bit more subject separation? This isn't a criticism, but I *feel* that 50 f1.4 or even 85 f1.4 would have helped. I see you're shooting Fuji crop, so of course that might not have been possible.

You're right, the outfits are solely the choice of the designer. I'm sure Katrina would have chosen something warmer on the day as it was 2'c

Yes, I shoot on the X-T series, because of the weight (a lot of my shooting is at events where I'm carrying it all day).
The 33mm F/1.4 lens is my goto (roughly 50mm equivalent). I do have a 50, but it's F/2 so I don't think I'd get greater separation (and I didn't have it with me on the day as I was also carrying an osmo so I could grab a bit of video). I have pondered the 56 F/1.2 or even the 50 F/1.0 refurbished lenses, but so far I've resisted spending even more money ;)

Nice set.

Three is my fav. Face isolated and its interesting with much of the unflattering outfit out of view.

She is a gorgeous model.

You have my sympathy on that! I've been thoroughly spoiled now, buying a Sony GM50 f1.2 used a year ago (that was OUCH! expensive by my standards). It sounds like you made the right choice in the circumstances. (y)

I'm just wondering.. since this is a 'fashionmob' shoot .. how many people work shooting at once? Or were you working 1-1 with the model?
That is puzzling me as well. If the intent was to display the clothing, I don't think it succeeded.

Surely.. the content is the most important photographic aspect?

In this case the photographer was presented with a model and an environment that he has only a small amount of control over, but he can control how he photographs them. It's this second aspect I was commenting on.

I think there were around 10 togs on the day, so not 1-1.
Although some of the time you do get 1-1, but for other shots no.
It also depends on the number of models on the day.

It really started as something to do back in 2020 - Something that could be done safely outdoors and has carried on from then.
It's not supposed to be selling anything specific on the day, more a way for Pierre and the models to keep active and have a little fun.

I thought I could see that in the pictures. The challenge is always to make something different to everyone else and you've probably succeeded there.

IMO Portraiture including fashion really does need to be 1-1. If you're in a group setting than taking turns can work well. But if people are all shooting at once you'll always be severely limited on what you can make.

You're right, it is a challenge, but that makes it more fun, looking for that shot that no one else is getting.
This isn't portraiture though, and whilst fashion can be 1-1, especially if you are shooting to order, fashion can also be 1-many. E.g. fashion week, catwalks, etc.

Nice shots, I think #4 is my favourite. I've done a couple of shoots like this where there are a bunch of models & togs, and I've really enjoyed it. Is there somewhere I can sign up for this one, or is it invite only?

Regarding lenses, I have the Viltrox 56mm F/1.7, and I like it a lot. Not had a chance to use it for portraits yet, but it renders really nicely; might be worth a look?

Is it really much different from the 50mm F/2, which I already have.
TBH, if I was going to spend money on a 5Xmm lens, I would rather go for the 56mm F/1.2
However, I'm quite happy with the versatility of the 33mm.

I do appreciate that, really. But this looks like a street editorial so I was critiquing it as such. The main thing which would improve each picture is more engagement.

I don't know tbh.
