First week. FOOD with Wide angle tech...

Are these technically food? Certainly feels like we've been living on them for the last two weeks

Though it's hard to tell here, all of these were taken at 35mm or wider which is where wide angle starts on FF.

This was my fave. Sony A7i plus a manual focus Minolta 35-70. For whatever reason (personal choice) I think I prefer the colours from the Sony - especially for a subject like this.

This was taken on my Canon R6ii with extension tubes and a Sigma 12-24 lens. I couldn't use it with the extension tubes at 12mm as in order to be close enough to focus, the sweets were touching the lens and then I couldn't get any light in.

This last one was taken with the Canon 24-70 at 24mm - quite liked it for the bokeh, but felt it was pure MACRO rather than WA.

You seem to have a mix of Celebrations and Heros in that 'tin'. We have a similar mix + some (I have no idea where they came from) Roses.
I think the Wispa shot for me (which was your choice too).
PS. I've fixed you entry on the scrolls now.

Thanks Tim - I think there are some Quality Street in there too.

Hard to choose between them. I'll go with the 3rd for the strong bokeh.
Thanks Bob.

You chose the best shot IMHO. Great colours
Thank you.
Opinion is divided on the matter.

But, for the purposes of the theme, absolutely! That works well.
Cheers Paul.

I agree the first one is the better one for the theme the last ones a little to close I think.
And technically its food might not be good for you but.......

Agree with the first shot being the best, well done having some sweets left as ours are well gone

They are certainly "food-like". What is a Wispa made of (I haven't seen that in my neck of the woods)?

Foodish for sure, Cadbury's used to be a lot better in my memory than it is these days although I'd still take a Cruchie if you have one going spare.:D

The biggest surprise to me was taking the shots but not eating any.

Nice shots. Tick the “food” box for me
I think Christmas changes the definition a bit.

Wispas are a real 80’s throwback. Milk chocolate but bubbly. Smaller bubbles than an Aero.

Cadbury was bought out by an American company some time ago and they’re slowly changing the recipe.

A nicely colourful take on the theme Kell. I prefer the first one too.

Thanks.

Great shots but I think you picked the best one. The colour contrast really makes the Wispa pop.

Nice pix of the yummy stuff!

Interesting to get golden hour light on the clock face at (I think) 9am.
Your camera's clock is wrong though - says 11:57 in the exif (which really confused me ref the light - until I looked at the clock face).

I’m not sure I’d call it golden hour - just low winter sun.

As for time, just checked my camera - date and time are correct (as at 12:50) so not sure why it's displaying incorrectly on the image.

Just checked and 11:57 was the time modified. i.e. must be when I exported from LR.

I say 'was' as I've uploaded a newer version from photoshop where I took out some of the dust spots.

Though I've just noticed another one.

Nice. It's the body language that says cold.

I think you chose the best food shot too - great colours and feels like you could reach in and grab a handful

I really like the lighting of the people in the second shot too!

Jackets, scarf and hood up with a blue sky usually means cold, Big Ben lined up well with the wheel

The people certainly look cold, well captured (y)
Thanks Simon.

Thanks Keith.

Yeah, I was there for that shot really, but happened to notice everyone dressed up and hunched up against the cold.

Week 03 - Graffiti (with also a redo of the WIDE ANGLE)

Taken on a Canon R6II plus 24-70 (at 24)

South Bank Skate Centre on my way to work. Felt a bit soulless with no one around.

Same place, at night - felt better with people in it.

Leake Street Tunnels

Again, this felt better with people in and is a popular place as it's one of the only legal spaces to paint.

This was my fave though as you can actually see the spray.

Love both of those spots. Though Leake St tends to have a greater Art : Tag ratio.
From an Art perspective I really like Leake St #2
But from a photography perspective, yes perhaps #3, because or (a) the action caught and (b) I'm liking the bright spots.
