Large red Damselfly

Here is a large red damselfly from my walk yesterday. They have started to appear over the last day or two

Nicely done Alf.
Although I get the odd one or two around my pond, they never stay put long enough to get a decent shot at them.

Some species settle more than others and Damselflies often away from the water

Nice Damselfly image Alf.
I should keep an eye out for these to appear in my garden soon.
Whilst I don't have a pond, I live near large lakes, so I get good numbers of Odonata in my garden.

Thanks Alf, hopefully this coming Monday 11th will be our 1st day out in nearly 2 months, it`s going to be mayhem out there..(That`s if they can start their cars after 2 months sitting about lol)

Damselflies seem to move away from the water possibly to keep away from dragonflies
