Critique required LC2's 52 Shoe Horns for 2024: Week 47 - Ancient

Week 31 - Bridge(s)

Just off the path between Norden and Corfe.
I liked the pool of light just beyond the bridge.
I know some may not like the line of bright light at the top of the shot, but it was a conscious decision to keep that in the edit to emphasize that this was a bridge and not simply an archway.

Candid - I have been trying to work on street photography and following a few eg Eduardo Ortiz to understand and improve my pictures. The layering is really effective in your picture along with the pop of colour on the person.

Thanks Alan. I guess the photo wasn't strictly candid as Lani was doing a model shoot with us.
However, the shot coming out of the google revolving doors wasn't a posed shot, so it counts in my book (or at least in my shoehorning mind).

Week 45 - Snappers + Tech: Flash

A little different from the usual use of flash in an event space.
A single gelled flash aimed at a black background, with a little spill onto Brittany's face.
Shutter speed slowed to 1/30 at f/1.8 to allow the low ambient light to do the subject illumination.

The intricacy and realism is fascinating. Our neighbour's son has a business making costumes for Game Of Thrones and other films of that ilk, a few "interesting" stories there!

I bet the stories are 'interesting' ;)
Good set Tim. Always amazed by how much these folks put into this.
Yes, there is a lot of work put into a lot of the costumes. Especially as a lot of the time they have to make the pattern too.

Week 47 - Ancient

If not ancient, then certainly old from a jet aviation perspective. Concorde's first passenger flight was(just) less than 30 years after Heathrow opened.
It took a bit of wandering around the Peri track to find somewhere half reasonable to get a shot that wasn't too badly obscured.

I also got this shot, which has the added interest of the Swissair departing in the background. But not as good a shot and horrible light.

Frightening that Concorde is, unarguably, ancient. I remember when it was new! I guess that make me ancient too.

Much prefer your chosen shot too.

Ancient? No. Old yes. Nice to see :)

It took some work... I should try different times of the day to see if the light is any better.
It's not easy to get close.

A shame it's not still flying really.

I remember the day it caught fire at the airport in Paris. We were on the taxiway at Manchester on our ay to Eurodisney. They called us back and waited for hours. When we eventually got there we met a family who had gone by car from Bolton and had beaten us there by a few hours!

Very good images throughout your catch up. I like the 'Hellraiser' (I think) the best. Of the Concordes I'm going with the mono - it seems to suit the idea of 'ancient' better.
