First macro outing for me today - limited to the back garden given the current situation. I made myself a new pringles tube diffuser as the cat sprayed up the old one in a fit of territorial rage (new neighbours... new puss in town!). Managed to make this one a bit more robust and slightly less ratchet... it seemed to work ok. Mainly found what I believe are Bee Flies which is interesting as I don't recall ever seeing them before in our garden or at the local nature reserve. Loads of them kicking around today though!

C&C alwatys welcome. All taken with a Nikon D7000, Tamron 90.. amd SB600 flash onboard.

Thanks for looking :)

I do like the Bee Fly ones, as shows well what they have to do when feeding on such shallow flowers......talk about standing on 'tip-toes'.

Very much liking the Bee Flies. First time I've seen them in our garden this year, but it could just be that I'm spending a lot more time in the garden so far this year!

I wish I would get to see bee flies Fi these look like dark banded bee flies
Nicely shot too and that hover fly is fit to burst

Nice set Fi, well captured.
And same here, this is the first year that I've seen them in my garden too.
Unfortunately no flowers for them just yet, ( won't be much longer) but they keep checking the place out..
