(Nigella Damascena) - planted a packet of these about 10 years ago - they are now everywhere in the garden and around the edges

Edited in LR - adjusted RAW

Original - RAW - the flower is now fading and producing seeds

Beautiful, really liking the colour and comp on the edit. Think you got the dof near enough perfect as well.

Thanks Ryan - one of the many marvellous things about nature is that you can buy beautiful plants for just a couple of pounds and seeds for less, then you have you own "photographic" studio in your garden or plant pots with all kinds of possibilities

"This" pays our plant pots a visit now and again

Lovely plant and colour, I have never seen one like it here.

The composition on your edit is lovely - and the flower itself is also lovely!

I planted these in a container a few years back ans can just sit and enjoy them in bloom. The bees seem to make them a regular stop off point.

Used the EF-S 60mm macro a few times and finally caught s visiting bee. Shallow d.o.f - got the 100mm to try but still waiting for full bloom here?

Our garden is awash with them, none are in flower yet, the wife is the gardener and says we are about 3 weeks behind this year. I always enjoy photographing them.
