Hi,
I have a silly question, I use LR classic:

Looking black friday deal still up and running there is a choice on amazon:

Adobe Creative Cloud 20GB:photoshop&Lightroom|1 Year|PC/Mac for £62.99

or

Adobe Lightroom 1TB | AI-assisted photo editor | 1 Year | PC/Mac for £61.99

I'm sure the first one include LR classic and LR mobile
The second one not so sure as it is only described as LR AI assisted... I've not been following much what they offer is that the same or another version?

The top one is Lightroom Classic where you catalog and images are hosted on your own PC.

The second one is cloud based. The catalog and your images are uploaded and stored online,

That's right. Classic is the familiar desktop software, just Lightroom is the cloud only version.

Don't go for the L/R 1TB. I did on my first try and found it to restrictive, for the price difference thought worth going with P/S and L/R option buying yearly extension each time Adobe offer special prices. Russ.

Cloud plus local storage on your computer ,you don’t need to use the cloud which probably begs the question, why not just use classic then,to which I personally prefer the look and how LR desktop as the so called cloud version is also called now works
Also if you get the classic package it also includes the same LR cloud version, but I don’t use the other stuff but would make sense for you to get the one including classic, you can always have a play with the other stuff if needed.

1st is photography plan (currently for £9.98 a month) It includes, Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Lightroom Classic and Adobe Photoshop plus 20 GB. Wouldnt go for Adobe Lightroom only plus 1T storage unless you need it only for storage. If you want to prepare images professionally for both printing and digital display the combo Photoshop plus Lightroom Classic works the best, also for organizing the photos.

Currently £62.99 p.a. if you get the Amazon Black Friday offer........

I thought you could still buy the one time purchase option as an existing subscriber.
you can probably from a new account but you would still need to pay for the old one to the end of your annual subscription or pay for leaving early

Never had to do this in the past, monthly DDs just get suspended.

Just to clear up any confusion.

Amazon have two different LR Classic packages now. One of them is for first time buyers and always seems to be at the lower price to lure the customer in. After the first year it reverts to the standard £9.99/month. You can not buy this and add it to an existing account.

DO NOT BUY THIS ONE IF YOU ALREADY HAVE A SUBSCRIPTION

Then there is the package that most of use are used to buying. This is usually priced at around £109 but often on offer on Prime days and black friday. This package can be added to an existing account.

Be careful which one you buy.

Thanks. I thought I was losing it.

I subscribed to 9.98 Photography Plan offer last year August or September (paid monthly), it was the price from the beginning. Since this lower price offer was on at the beginning of October too, I ve asked Adobe if I can cancel the subscription now, and I got an answer about early leaver fee. It made an offer not worth paying as after summing up it would be more or less the same price.

I didnt buy through Amazon but directly through Adobe website, there wasnt any lower price, you paid 9.98 from the beginning. And you cant cancel it without paying a fee.

I never said you did and no Adobe don’t have lower prices, Amazon do. Not really sure what your point is.

And yes you sign a 12 month minimum contract when you sign up.

somebody mentioned monthly DDs just get suspended, so no, not in this case. My point is that probably buying directly was a mistake.

They do, provided you buy the correct deal on Amazon.

Regardless of where you signed up, if you buy the 12 month prepaid subscription on Amazon your monthly payments with Adobe are suspended for 12 months.

You tried to cancel your subscription which is completely different and they charge you a penalty for early cancellation.

I also bought direct and added the Amazon purchases which resulted in the DDs being suspended.

Yes I wrote to them if I can cancel without mentioning about planned Amazon purchase. So you dont need to do anything only purchase Amazon one and it will happen automatically?

You just have to add the code to you Adobe account and the rest is automatic.

Just see my post above and make sure you order the correct Amazon deal. There are two and one of them can not be added to your account.

Once the code is added it should extend your period another 12 months. Everything else remains unchanged.
