Hi,
i am going to the Mini performance action day and castle combe tomorrow and just after a few ideas and advise on how to get some great shots. Although only owning my camera for a few months, I struggle to get any decent static and action shots at shows (usually due to the amount of people/stuff in the way).

I really like using my OM prime lens 50mm f1.8 and 28mm f2.8 for static shot.

Any advice of links to car show photography greatly appriciated (y)
(I will obviously be doing a bit of searching, just asking for some general tips ;))

Many thanks

Cornwall

Arrive as early as possible, I get most of my static shots within the first 30 minutes of an event whilst it's still relatively quiet.

I don't really have any specific advice, but if you look hard enough there are always interesting angles regardless of how busy it is. Look for repetition (shouldn't be hard tomorrow), and be patient...these two Veyrons were swarming with people all day, I found the angle I wanted and just waited for that split second when it was all clear (there are probably 20-30 people just outside of frame in that shot).

You will also see plenty of cars heading towards the pit lane through the paddock tomorrow to go out on track, you can get some nice slow pans of cars driving slowly through the paddock.

Thanks for the advise (y) Sadly wont be getting there for the start, probably around 10am, should beat the worst of the crowds.

Like the idea of the paddock, should be able to get some nice shots there :D, may take a walk around the track and see if there are any good locations for pic. Got to remember I am going with my sister, she is building a mini at the mo and wants inspiration, I just want to take photos;)
