Many years ago, I used to fish off that pier with a Hook, Line & Sinker.
We caught Mackerel by the bucket load and can still see the massive Conger Eels swim round the legs of the pier at high tide.
At night we would watch the Canadian submarines from the base opposite test their torpedos.
