Personally I'd have either used a larger aperture to heavily blur the forground or a smaller one to get full front to back sharpness (or multiple exposures if that were not possible) I think the image would be even stronger if the image were cropped where the clods are starting to blur, but that's a personal viewpoint, and you may prefer the picture as it is.

Thanks, appreciate the feedback. I probably should have focus stacked to get the whole image sharp in truth. I did actually consider a square crop for the reasons you pointed out but for some reason I have an irrational aversion to them.
