So I've managed to find out why is the reason that my mobile phone videos are not playing on a USB memory stick or memory card though my DVD player and it's coming up saying codec not supported. Apparently I've filmed in HD and DVD players will not take that high quality format and have to be 480p at the highest. There's probably devices that take the HD format at 1080p which I would like you to list.

First option is to convert your videos into an option the TV will read.
Have a read of this if you dont have a Samsung tele then google the brand you do have that will tell you what format they will need to be in.

DVD's are 720 x 540 (in the UK) the only way you'll get a better quality is to burn to a blu-ray disc.
'Videopad' editing software will burn any edited video straight to a DVD, I think they do a demo version you could try. Here
