Nicely composed and shot. Are they some kind of Bonnets (Mycena)? Each time autumn comes, I find that I have forgotten half the names of fungi I knew last year.

Not sure to be 100% John- I thought wax caps? - they were very tiny

My best guess would be Snapping Bonnet, Mycena stipata. The name "Snapping" comes from the very brittle stem which snaps audibly when bent.
