I first went to Mountfitchet Castle back in November 1989 as a 9 year old and my mum allowed me to take her camera, a Kodak Ektra 110 which she implored me 'not to waste' the pictures!! A few definitely came out black, but these are some of the first pictures I took.

Finally got around to going back 35 years later - it had changed significantly in that time - not least all the building around it, but there are still bits I can remember, and as you can see, the fundamentals of it are the same.

Well worth a day out if you are out that way - the house on the hill museum is very interesting - examples toys and novelties from pretty much the last 50 or 60 years - certainly brought back a few memories!

I went there with my wife and stepdaughter a few years ago. We had a good time, but my stepdaughter was utterly freaked out by the talking mannekins in the huts!

I really enjoyed seeing these photos, thank you for sharing :)
