My flash died and at the moment I am using this

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B009APY9TO/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 (Yongnuo YN-560 II Flash with Standard Hot Shoe for Nikon, Canon)
In my hand and it is a slave flash triggered by the pop up flash.

The only problem is that the light is quite tricky to get right for different magnifications and a) no diffusion b) I am worried about dropping it.
Not sure what to replace it with.

Any ideas?

Godox MF12 kit is very nice ;)
I was thinking that - what do you use it with? How reliable is it? What I like about my current solution (apart from the price) is if it breaks it is easy to replace on holiday.

Another vote for Godox MF12 set up, I use it with laowa lenses and Canon 760D and the 90D.

Only issue I've had is a small bit of plastic break away by the power button on both flash heads, I bought mine at launch so could have been teething issues, still love them, looking to add 1 or 2 more heads.

I use it with a Fuji XT-4 and a 80mm macro lens. I’ve only been using it for a short while, I have posted images in the macro thread. I like it mainly because it is TTL :)
yes, as always price is a major consideration.
