Bought a Nikon 105mm Macro lens last week,been playing all weekend with it,hoping to really get into this type of photography so any tips and advice would be really helpful.

It's a Nikon 105mm vr Macro on a Nikon D3.
I used a SB 800 off camera for this pic.

Graham do you know anything about the Raynox 250 adaptor things,may get one of those if there any good.

Thanks for the info, it always helps.
If you have not seen, there are what they call "stickies" at the start of the macro section, lots of info on lots of things that will be of interest to you.
Was your flash diffused ?
What type of subjects are you wanting to photograph ?
Yes I know the Raynox 250 its not that easy to use but it can give great results but maybe 1st you should master your lens and its close up abilities.
