We live close to Nailsea in N. Somerset, where there used to be a thriving glass-making industry. The waste glass from the furnaces is called "cullet". Since it contains impurities, it was usually dumped and sometimes found its way into a sort of hardcore for garden paths etc. This piece emerged from the ground when I was digging the veggie plot. It is 1.5" long. Although it is a bit of waste, it is also a little bit of local history and worth recording.
