Posting as a sub for @FishyFish Nige who came top in #248. Speaking to a mate the other night and we laughed about the fact that he wore a purple velvet suit when he got married in the late 70s. We then got to talking about fashions that have come and gone since then, hence this choice of subject. Fashion isn't just about clothes though, so also hairstyles, holidays, cars, etc. For the long term filmies that'll mean a trip down memory lane, but more recent film users will possibly have visited 40s/50s/60s revival events, or seen the popularity of groups like Goths or those with Hipster beards, so hopefully an inclusive topic.

As usual the following rules apply:

- Must be taken by you
- Must be on film
- Must have been taken, developed and scanned prior to the start date of this challenge.
- Discussion in the discussion thread (link below) rather than this Entries thread, please.

Please include details of the camera, lens, film etc and anything else of relevance if you can possibly remember that far back.

Entries until 23.59 Saturday 23rd Nov.

Please keep all discussion and comments in the "new old film discussion thread" https://www.talkphotography.co.uk/t...discussion-thread.698995/page-22#post-9548798

From the days when the tank top and big collars were fashion items, this was a self timer shot of a young me with plenty hair. It was taken to send to my Swedish penpal, which is how I know it was fashionable at the time! It would have been my first slr, a Praktica PLC2 with 50mm Pancolor lens.

Smoking, long hair and waistcoats....were just about still in fashion in 1975

Probably a Pentax Spotmatic with 50mm lens, I'd guess at either Kodak or Orwo film, and a non-TTL flash

Smoking!

CB67C15_Adj Friends smoking.jpg

So what have we here? Three of my college friends in 1967, two of them smoking pipes, all wearing ties (trust me on that), one a cardigan and one snazzy checked shirt and trousers! Smoking was very widespread. I tried cigarettes, but luckily for me the only times I could tolerate the taste was when I had enough drink taken to make the risk of trying to light the filter end quite high. Surprisingly perhaps, I believe the middle guy (at the back) is still alive.

Taken with my Werra 1 (no light-meter, hence the terrible exposure) on Ilford HP3 film.

Well I can't find anything different to what has been posted and never wore Elton John platform shoes :D
So a shoehorn on something that never goes out of fashion... sexy women esp those suspender belts:-

A close run thing between the top 3 shots, but @ChrisR has triumphed with his pipe smokers shot. Over to you Chris for #250. :)

Ah, thank you and... well, thanks! Brain will probably not engage until it's been fed...
