Nikon Z5 Macro Focus Shift Question

Afternoon,
Recently purchased a Nikon Z5 and 50mm Macro lens. Looking to do some focus stacking after watching some videos on other photographers doing the same, but with the OM1 system not Nikon.

On the OM1 system it seems you can set the focus stacking up and trigger it from the shutter button once bracketing is enabled. On the Nikon however this doesn't seem possible and instead you have to go into the menu each time to start the bracketing sequence, which runs once and you then need to go back into the menu to start it again, rather than being able to fire it off when needed. This is incredibly frustrating as once you go into the menu system you can no longer see your subject, and during the stacking sequence you also cant see anything, which means your subject could have flown off with you not being aware until the sequence is finished.

Am I missing something? I have mapped the feature to 'my menu' to make it quicker to get to, but still lose visuals when going to the shortcut.

Any advice / tips ready!
Cheers

No real solution... You can make it the first item in your "my menu," and then program a button to "access top item in my meny" which will make it a little quicker; but all of the other issues still remain.

thanks for the reply, that is what i had feared would be the case, and what i have at the moment as a shortcut, just wanted to confirm as my google searches weren't giving any specifics. will stick to single shot for moving subjects then :)(y)
