I'm inclined to say they weren't fully aware, feel like my being there didn't affect their behaviour as they had their heads to the ground eating constantly and only rarely looking about above the grass. There was a point of two early on where they seemed to think there was something going on. I could be wrong, they could have seen my and thought "look at this wally, here's harmless!"Great shot. Are you sure it didn't know you were there..?
It looks like it's got its beady eye on you.
