Old Mamiya 35mm info required

Was given an old camera bag by a friend, and in it is a rather lovely Mamiya NC1000s in silver. It has a 50mm lens, seems to work, and is in decent condition for what has been a well-used camera.

Anyone know much about these? Have never heard of the manufacturer. I'm not sure of its quality. I'm wondering whether to have my first ever go with film or give it to my three year old son who is fascinated by it!

Thanks for that, I'd already googled Was wandering if anyone has experience of using them? I'm in two minds about embarking on a new hobby of film photography - I'm nowhere near mastering digital yet (and never will!), but being a child of the 70s, I'm smitten with the ergonomics and look of this camera!
