Hello All,

I haven't had a landline phone for 20 years or so but as I'm moving house in the near future, I have to change my internet provider which comes with a landline plus in the rural area I am moving to the mobile signal even out doors is naff so I thought I would use the landline. As I am always drawn to old tech I'm thinking of going with a vintage rotary dial phone but as far as I know these were all pulse dial rather than tone , will pulse dial still work ? If not is there a way around it ?

The other option if you have a half decent broadband is to use WiFi calling on your mobile. (y)

I did at one point do mostly Whattsapp calling video and what not but then my phone died and I ended up using an old thick phone ( rather than smart) I've found this quite liberating as now I only get a call if someone really wants me rather than all sorts of tat and with the added benefit that the battery lasts upto 2 weeks. After looking about a bit I could either use an old phone with a pulse to dial convertor or there is someone on eBay selling a remake of the last of the rotary dial phones that were pulse dial. Most of this info has come thanks to Toni's original link which was very interesting .
