After a somewhat prolonged absence from the forum due to illness, but having recovered somewhat, I hereby upload my first picture in months. I found this little chap on duckweed in my pond yesterday so rescued him from getting eaten by the goldfish and he kindly posed for quite a few photographs before we left him in a tree to do whatever moths do.
The Oleander Hawk Moth normally inhabits Asia, Africa and Hawaii but sometimes comes to western Europe, especially Turkey, so he is a bit far from home here in the South West of the UK. I've left my whole (adult) hand in for scale, he's a big bugger.
