One eyed bee.

I wonder what happened to this little fellow.
As soon as I took this he flew off, didn't even know he was disfigured until I looked on my camera screen.

It is a hoverfly not a bee
I suspect it has two eyes as we can see the hairs on the far eye

Looks very much like Eristalis pertinax to me. I agree with Alf about the eyes, nice catch.

Yes, it is a female Eristalis pertinax. The yellow front and middle tarsi are clearly shown. Bit dark for my taste. Looks like it is taken with a single, undiffused flash - so deep shadow underneath,
