First one I've managed to photograph this year, it was quite warm today around 18c, but surprisingly they were quite flighty, so this was after numerous failed attempts over the space of an hour or so...

Lovely butterflies but to me their colouring makes the photos always look like they have been photo shopped in there.
Looks like maybe this was a last years model by the looks of the wings.

Thanks Graham, yes you could be right, there looked to be a few from last year that had tatty wings.

I saw a couple of butterflies yesterday, a Brimstone and a Orange tipped white.
Sadly I was sat in my car at a roundabout both times.

Thanks Paul, yes it is, there were about 4-5 of them flying around that kept landing on the ground but every time I got within 2ft or so they would take off.
