In Norfolk is a pretty good place to visit if you are looking for something to do within a short distance of Fakenham, and it is very accessible from both North and West Norfolk. My wife and I often go there as we like to take a break in Old Hunstanton. Though a bit dated now, these pictures were taken in December 2021 and January 2022 and show some of the birds that were there. Not all the birds there are captive, many just choose to be there, while others, like the cranes are part of a breeding programme.
1. Juvenile Red-crowned Crane
At the time this crane was about 7 months old.
2. Pair of Crowned Cranes
3. Northern Pintail
4. Red-crested Pochard
5. Hooded Merganser
6. Barnacle Goose
Not only is it good for seeing the birds, it is excellent exercise and the restaurant offers pretty good fare and a decent coffee!
