I’ve had my R5 for a couple of months and am really happy with it.
However, yesterday I came across my first issue.
I had the 100-500mm lens on the R5, in servo mode, animal eye detect, mechanical shutter, burst drive setting and RAW.
I was shooting birds at my local nature reserve, and had been shooting for about an hour when the camera just froze. The last image taken was ‘stuck’ in the view finder. The shutter would not function, and even switching the camera off and on again didn’t resolve the issue.
The only way to sort the problem was to remove the battery and re-insert. The camera then continued to behave for the rest of the day.
Rather concerning should it happen at a ‘vital moment’.
Has anyone else experienced this phenomenon? I've googled this and a few on DPReview have mentioned it, but not any solution.
