Realise I may have purchased from a dodgy website

After having been doing some research online I believe I have inadvertently ordered from a dodgy website this morning. The same product appears on a couple websites and I have ordered from the wrong browser tab I had open!! I used apple pay to complete the transaction, however didn't get a confirmation email to advise of the successful purchase. It wasn't a huge amount of money, however still be a bummer if I've lost the money. Having revisited the website - I now see a lot of tell-tale signs things might not be as they should - no address, no social media, no terms and conditions. I've yet to email them but thought I'd seek members advice on here. The website sells a handful of one-off high value products which is another bad sign.

https:// dslr dash gear dot com Mod edit - URL edited to discourage SEO and make it harder for someone to carelessly click through & get scammed.

Has anybody been in a similar situation, and what did they do?

Domain name registered 4 years ago and seems to belong to a website design service called Spark in Shrewsbury.
Doesn't look good to me. :(

Interestingly the product I have purchased appears on this website too and the photographer appears to based in Shrewsberry too

Does applepay offer customer protection like a proper credit card? If so, it may be possible to be reimbursed. It is of course possible the site is genuine but badly run.

And it also appears on this website www dot camerahide plate dot com

I believe the transaction is still protected in the same way as any debit transaction as apple pay only help with communication of the payment details as an alternative to entering them in manually.

I'm going to give the numbers a ring tomorrow to see if I get anywhere, in the meantime I'm on the phone now to my bank to see what the situation is

It looks like the phone number and website like many others belongs to a web design company. I'd give them a ring on Monday and have a chat with them. The phone number is used for quite a few sites at the same address. Good luck mate.

He's on facebook too. Not active though

Certainly I would have been more happier if I had purchased from his website, however it could be the same person running all 3 websites so I might be worrying about nothing. Still seems unusual you can order 20 Leica Q2 cameras at £4975 each. Just doesn't sit right. I may have to leave things until Monday as I've been on the phone to my bank queueing for nearly an hour.

Guys, we are trying to avoid giving SEO upticks for potentially dodgy websites. Could you please edit your posts to make the links readable but not clickable? It's a bit tiresome having to do this manually on a number of posts.

I’d give it a few days to see if anything turns up. If you don’t get it you can charge back either a debit or credit card.

Did you really just spend £80 on a bit of wood?
It has adjustable feet and seems a good solution for hide use. I was thinking about a clamp but a clamp restricts you more with where and what you can attach to

Do you think it could support a gimbal too
A gimbal yes. I have a lens Master which is a heavy gimbal and it supports that fine, with my camera and lens

The legs on the little tripod can go completely flat so the weigh is transferred straight onto the ground or table with the legs just giving support. A bit like the wooden one

Ended up using my banking app to report the transaction and got given an immediate credit for the value. The plate didn’t end up coming and I didn't have any joy reaching the company on the phone number nor by email either
