This year we sadly lost @Cobra who has been the mainstay of the site for many years and in a lot of ways I think many of us are still coming to terms with his passing. He was always here with a steady hand on the tiller, delivering fair, even and good humoured moderation of the site and he stepped up to successfully manage the transition when @Marcel wanted to hand over the reins and brought in @lindsay and my self to help with various aspects of running the site. This place wouldn't be what it is today without him and we all owe him a lot so raise a glass to Chris.

Here's some stats, top posters (excluding mods) are

And most liked

Thanks to @Gav. for running the Nifty Fifty and Seasonal challenges and thanks to @Harlequin565 for running the Zine Exchange

As well as being in the top 10 liked, @Cockney also gets an ASBO for being reported 10 times during the year.

Below is just a small selection of photos that caught the staff's eye during the year. There is so much excellent work being posted that we can't reference it all but our thanks go to everyone who has posted photos and commented this year, it is what makes Talk Photography such a great place to hang out.

This is just a tiny selection of the wide variety of photography that has been posted this year, thanks again to all for your continuing support and sharing such interesting and varied images throughout the year.

Feel free to post below any links to images, achievements, help and advice that have stood out for you from others during 2024.

Happy new year from the Talk Photography team.

Thanks to all the staff for their hard (mostly unseen) work to keep the place running as smoothly as possible.

Good not to be atop the post count this year!!!

Thanks also to everyone for their inspiring shots.

I, for one, will be raising a glass to the much missed Cobra this evening.

Thanks @sirch for pulling this together, and it certainly shows the huge talent pool that inhabits this site. Thanks to all who contribute and make it a good place to be.

It's hard to think of this year without realising the impact of the loss of Chis has had on me, and of course the entire forum - I know I've struggled, and the first few weeks/months were hard - not only in just outright missing his sense of humour and commentary behind the scenes, but in keeping the place actually turning over - I don't think any of us on the staff truly realised and appreciated the amount of time and effort Chris put into this place. But, New Years are a time to look not just backwards, but forwards - and Chris and Lindsay are still doing their sterling jobs - both with the care and upkeep of the forum Hamster and also in keeping the challenges going. But my true highlight of the year, I must admit, is that losing Chris gave us the much needed kick up the fundament we all needed, to engage some new blood on the Moderation side of things, to save Tori and myself from becoming spread all too thin. Happily a couple of respected long-term members were happy to be dragooned into the moderation Pool - and a damned fine job Toni and Garry are doing, and hopefully will continue to do. A team I'm proud to work with - damn, wish i could say that about the day job.

In short - We're still here - we're committed to this place, and we're all hoping for and working towards a great 2025 for the forum and for all its members.

I do reserve the right though, to raise a glass to a very special absent friend this evening.

As to the photo's - well - all I can say as every year is WOW.

Thought there might be at least one "gob shot" get into the review of the year though ;)

Whilst wholeheartedly agreeing with the above posts, my thanks also to @Gav for being an extra pair of very helpful eyes on the goings-on on TP when we are otherwise engaged and running challenges, ditto @dale for stepping in to help for a while.

I was away from the forum for the first half of the year (ill health).
When I started to get better and work had eased up a bit, I came back. I missed the community and it helped me get back into taking photos again. Although I don't contribute as much as I used to, I still pop in everyday to have a peek at the photos and posts.
The passing of Chris @Cobra was a very sad moment and more for those that new him well. He is greatly missed.
Thanks you and a Happy New year too all of you that keep this place running.

I was going to say, 'not sure where to start' but sadly, I do. It's also a good opportunity to say it.

The overwhelmingly influential event of this year for the forums was of course the loss of Chris. It's already been said above but he really was the glue here and it's been a tough act to follow for the remaining staff. They've had big boots to fill and are doing a grand job.

I miss Chris, he was influential in me becoming part of the staff team a few years ago. It was a honour to be part of the team myself and to be entrusted by the other staff members too. I chose to step down not long after we lost Chris but the changes made behind the scenes since and also, both our new mods have helped to steady the ship, in what I know for a fact, has been a very challenging time for Staff since Chris passed.

I raise a glass to Chris here but also, our staff team.

Going forward, as hard as it may be at times, we have to carry the forums forward, it's what Chris would want and above all, he would want us to enjoy it here. Only we can make that happen and I'm sure we will.

Happy New Year to you all and let's make the best of the time we have. :)

Thank you Chris, for taking the time to put this years review together.

It's been an honour to join the team, and I'm grateful for a chance to give back to the community, and we do have an amazing, talented community here too. Thank you, everyone who contributes here, for what you bring to TP.

It’s strange, I only met Chris twice I think on a couple of TP meets and otherwise just through interactions here on the forum. However I did feel a true sense of loss with his passing.
Much the same for me, although we did also have occasional phone conversations and PM discussions, where he was very helpful, giving me the benefit of his expertise with pest control, and I will never forget the immediate and correct advice he gave me when my dog decided to eat rat poison . . .
He was exceptional but, at the same time, typical of TP membership in that the TP community provides real support and help to each other, all behind the scenes and on the QT.

May I suggest putting a NSFW banner on this post? I had to scroll past very quickly as I was enjoying the pictures and then the Nude and Glamour images popped up on my screen in the office. Fortunately it is quiet in here today.

Love this site, and appreciate all the hard work to keep it going. Lots of inspiration and interactions I enjoy.

I've done that, in past years we haven't included anything from N&G but @Scooter in particular posts really good work in there and deserved a mention

I've not been active on TP for quite some time now, due to personal circumstances, but I am deeply, deep,y saddened to hear of @Cobra having passed.

I always found him to be a far, open-minded, helpful and friendly member and admin - always- helpful will be missed and remembered for a long time and I send my best wishes and condolences to all his friends and family at this sad time.

Cheers Chris ❤️
