Love it.
That's also an impressive selection of model workers you have there !
Brilliant, very creative.
That’s very clever Ryan
Made me laugh out loud Ryan! Great image!
Very clever, I like that.
Awesome image. Very creative.
Many thanks for all the comments everyone! I have seen a few of these micro figure images about and always wanted to give it a go then I saw these in model shop over the holidays an decided to see what I could do.

For anyone interested they are Bachmann 00 gauge 1:76 figures for model trains although Hornby and others do them as well.

Oooooh clever :)

Week 02 Cold tech Wide Angle

Shot with a vintage 70's manual focus m42 Vivitar 17mm f3.5 which is about as wide as I can go before it becomes a fisheye although I did crop it down a bit to remove some distracting stuff on the left and right sides.

Nice one of my fave Cathedral. Taken from the Almonry cafe?

Super image. Really like this one!!
Super image - well done!
Cracker, like the processing
That's a really lovely image
Many thanks all!! :)
Beauty of a shot, the low angle with the frosted grass really helps.
Cheers Kell, I did try to focus stack the scene as that lens really close focuses well but as I did them handheld none of my attempts worked out.

Thanks Dave, yes its the Almonry although unsurprisingly for the time of year the usually lush garden was looking a bit bare.

HDR processing?
It would be interesting to understand the lens settings used, as there is very little oof, which considering how deep the photo is, is unexpected.
17mm on a FF body @f16 ( fully closed down) The letterbox 16:9 lost a good bit of the oof foreground as well as buildings to the right and walls/ a signboard to the left. The trade off of such a wide older lens on a FF body is the edges and corners are a bit soft which was another factor in my cropping decision.

I used radial filters in my raw editor to raise the shadows, drop the highlights and added texture and clarity to bits that were a bit softer. I suppose using a bunch of selectively placed radial filters have given it the HDR look but it isn't technically an HDR composite. I also used a colour balance layer to tweak my blues to give it a slightly colder feel.

Also ran it through Topaz AI for sharpening and noise reduction.

Your food shot is absolutely bloody brilliant!!! so so good

And your Wk 2 shot has so much atmosphere and depth. Strong first couple of weeks!!

Very very nice - I really like the processing.

Week 03 Graffiti

1. After legging it around the local area trying to spot some decent graffiti I have come to the conclusion there's 'S'not a lot about. What a tag name!
Could of used a bit more dof in hindsight.

3. My choice as I liked the faded washed out look to match the graffiti.

Think many would have struggled this week without a skate park nearby. Snot - yes what a name- uses nice punchy colours, rust on the second, a bridge?, looks interesting and maybe a bit concerning. Wonder if end zone means anything

I really like the composition of your chosen shot and the mirroring of the writing, but wondering if that too could do with a dash more dof? It looks a little soft to me?

All good shots Ryan’s but love the chosen one. Great composition and processing. Very atmospheric!

Three good theme shots Ryan :)

Snot seems to be quite prolific around Ely going by the number of bins and electrical boxes they have marked. As for End Zone that has been on the bridge for as long as I have lived here, probably much longer as it looked old then. The rust on the bridge is fine, it only has to hold freight and passenger trains...

Thanks, I was testing a vintage 135mm f1.8 lens which is quite soft wide open in certain light conditions. I can be edited to look sharp but I kinda liked the washed out look to match the graffiti.

I do prefer your chosen shot for the POV.
Many thanks guys!
