Third visit to the 52s - moving to the USA in the second week of 2025 so this may be a rough start.. This will be started on my m43 camera, but I may be switching format to Sony if SWMBO is on side. An action camera and probably some of my small collection of film cameras (spanning half frame through 5x4 might make an appearance or two. I'll try to avoid posting any phone photos but mate no promises!

Taken five years ago now after hiking one of our local trails in Vegas.
G9 with the Samyang 7.5mm lens wide open.

I have the same camera and lens combo in my hand luggage and might try to put them together for something vaguely productive after Wednesday when the house will be fully packed up!
 
Please do bear in mind that whilst the aim is to post in the week of the theme, it is okay to post later if you're not able to get a shot done during the week...
Anyhooo. I'm thinking this was shot with a manual lens (based on the exif stating f/1.0 which is how my manual lenses display in the exif)?
Or is it really an f/1.0? You have certainly blurred pretty much everything not right at the front of the image.
 
Manual everything - f2.0 if memory serves. And thanks for the reminder ref catch ups!
 
Love the composition of this.

I've not come across your shots in the 52 before (I don't think) so not sure how you approach any PP, but I think I'd have been tempted to try and lift the shadows/mids to bring a bit more detail to the front of the cookie as that's where the focus is.

Strong start.
 
It's a good picture for the theme, even if it is 5 years old.

I'm a returning offender... I'll have another look at the raw file when I have (a) a new place of residence, and (b) a new computer after admitting that I really didn't have space for my old Dell workstation "lap"top (computer in recycling, hard drives in my hand luggage for Saturday's relocation).

Very fair point being where the point of interest is - light for some reason it's always the last thing I consider when trying to guess a viewer to what I want them to look at. It's something I've actively tried to improve in the last few years, but still have a way to go.

Thanks all. If memory serves, it was a white chocolate and raspberry affair. Too sweet for my tastes, but suits my better half fine. The cafe was one of our very favourites when we were living in Vegas - well off the beaten track out next to some great hiking and mountain biking (and photo opportunities!)
 
I'm avoiding the frost this week, and instead have the finest my phone and my very limited imagination can grab whilst brushing my teeth...

The hot (blurred orange dot) and cold (in focus blue dot) indicators on my hotel room's tap - taken on macro mode at a minor contortion to avoid my own or my phone's reflection. Definitely not my finest...
 
LOL, I was with some of the team...lost as to what I was looking at...until I read your explanation...good take on the theme!
 
We're nearly settled in to our latest adventure in Florida - we got our house keys today and I'll start work week after next assuming all the admin goes through.

We arrived at the start of Tampa's Gasparilla festival - a true American made for tourists event where fictional pirates "bombard" the waterfront after parades, fireworks and so on. This weekend was the children's parade, which our two absolutely loved. Helped immensely by the thousands of strings of beads handed out by the participants to the audience.

Before the festivities started, we took a ride out to Ybor City - a historic Cuban quarter where Senõr Ybor brought his cigar factory and workers to escape Cuba's Spanish overlords' taxes. Chickens still run wild in the area - but are no longer a source of food, and they no longer offer cockfighting for entertainment. One of these may or may not answer to the name Zoe...
