This is the rare Valesina form, I photographed them in the Forest of Dean on 21 & 23 July 2014. I have not seen any more since then.

I see a lot of Pearl Washed Fritillary's here in Somerset, I have never seen a Silver washed before

This is what they normally look like, only a small percentage of females are the valesina form.
