Just seen on Facebook.

This is with great sadness to officially announce that one of the UK's oldest and biggest analogue photography retailers - Silverprint - went into administration as of yesterday 17th April.

They were also responsible for keeping regions like South America and Africa stocked with analogue photography related products. They will be greatly missed and I hope no more shops of good repute will follow their fate.

Their website is gone.

:(

Sad news indeed :(

Sad but inevitable.
Soon itt will all be a memory.

Oh dear.... and I have an outstanding order with them :(

@FishyFish could you post a link to the Facebook page please? I can't find it.

I had emailed them as a lot of things were out of stock, but they told me they stock over 7k lines and that it was difficult to keep the website up to date as stock overturned so quickly, so just to place the order :(

Did Silverprint have physical store(s) as well as their online presence? If so, I guess they'll suffer from the same overhead pressures that other bricks-and-mortar retailers do in the shape of rent, utility costs etc. Perhaps online-only retail will be the future.

The address on their email is a unit in Poole. It looks like it was online only.

Yup they moved out of their South London store a few years ago.

Very sad news, I used to buy my film from them, usually a few rolls and then walk from there to Oxford Circus for the tube back home. I'd order darkroom kit/chems from them every now and then too.

That's sad indeed.

They used to have a store just round the corner from Southwark tube station in London but a good few years ago (maybe 100 they moved L,S&B to Bournemouth I think. I used to use them all the time when they were in Southwark but have only used them a couple of time for online orders since they moved.

It's a shame to lose a supplier with such a diverse product range. I bought a few things from them in the past, lastly, I seem to remember, some coloured cyanotype paper.

I used to visit them in Poole to buy my stuff direct.
Big shame they have folded.

For anyone looking for another supplier, I use Speedgraphic a lot and they're very good.
